ScreenFloat is the ideal choice for anyone tired of moving and resizing windows around just to access a piece of information hidden behind them. It is a great way to transfer not copy-paste-able information to another application. It is also an excellent tool to store information for later use.
- Use ScreenFloat to keep a reference of almost anything always visible, no matter what application or Space you’re in. Create a screenshot of the relevant portion of your screen with ScreenFloat and it will float above all windows. This way, you don’t have to move.

With macOS Big Sur and Macs with Apple Silicon on the horizon, I wanted to give a quick update on my Mac apps.
All of them are now available in a new version, making them run nicely under macOS Big Sur, and have been recompiled to natively run on Apple Silicon.

[prMac.com] Vienna, Austria - Eternal Storms Software, makers of flickery and GimmeSomeTune, today is pleased to announce the release of ScreenFloat 1.0, their brand new Mac application. ScreenFloat simplifies the users' workflow by letting them create screenshots that float above all other windows, eliminating the need to resize or move windows around just to keep a piece of information visible on the display. As always, if you have any feedback or questions, please don’t hesitate to write me!
ScreenFloat provides the user with customizable keyboard shortcuts to quickly create floating shots. For organizing and categorizing created shots, ScreenFloat comes with a Shots Browser. In the Shots Browser, closed shots are collected, tagged, titled, and organized in collections or smart collections. Collections are basically folders which users manually add created shots to. Smart Collections contain shots based on criteria the user specifies.
To make creation of floating shots for text easier, ScreenFloat implements a system service that works with all Cocoa applications' selected text. For the user's convenience, there is a screencast available on the website.
'To be proud to announce ScreenFloat today would be an understatement' said Matthias Gansrigler, CEO of Eternal Storms Software. 'I've been using it for nearly two years and since it has been so helpful to me, I decided to release it publicly to help make others' workflows simpler as well'
